Jason Remillard - CEO & Founder

Jason Remillard is a real-life security and technology expert with more than 25 years of experience pioneering technology solutions for startups and Fortune 500 companies. Building on the development of the industry-leading ClassiDocs™ structured and unstructured data classification and governance platform Remillard launched Data443 to address further gaps identified in data security. Previously, Remillard served as VP of Security Architecture at Deutsche Bank, where he was responsible for Big Data, Security Architecture, Engineering and Analytics. Prior to his work at Deutsche Bank, he was a product manager with Dell Software (formerly Quest Software) leading the development of the Enterprise Identity and Access Management portfolio. Under his leadership at Dell Software, the portfolio grew at a compound annual growth rate of 20 – 90 percent over time. His career has included stints at IBM, Novell, Merrill Lynch, Royal Bank of Canada, TD Bank, Tucows and Ellacoya Networks. Remillard is also a founding member of the Blockchain Executive Group and holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business – University of Western Ontario, Canada.

Steven Dawson - Chief Financial Officer

Steven is a highly accomplished financial executive with over 18 years of corporate finance experience across a variety of publicly-traded companies within industries such as manufacturing, print advertising, wireless telecommunications, and a SaaS provider of online information. 

Most recently, before joining Data443, he has served as a fractional CFO and strategic consultant for clients across a variety of industries.  Previously, Steven worked with several organizations in ever increasing leadership roles including SVP of Global Finance for Vinventions, a worldwide manufacturer of wine closures of where he worked to refinance over $135MM of debt and secured $35MM of new equity;  Corporate Controller a NASDAQ-listed manufacturer of lab created gemstones and jewelry, where he was responsible for the accounting and finance functions, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, tax, and treasury processes; Business Unit and Consolidations (financial reporting) Controller with CREE, Inc., a manufacturer of LED lighting and silicon carbide-based chips; and in SOX Compliance and Strategic Finance with RH Donnelley, Inc. where he implemented the first SOX compliance program for a $2.6B revenue advertising service company, and later was part of small team working on capital financing and acquisition activities totaling over $9B. 

In addition, Steven has nearly 10 years of experience in public accounting, including five years with his own firm that he later sold, which had publicly-traded clients such as Nextel Communications, large family-owned business clients focused on succession planning, and emerging business clients with needs to establish strong finance and administrative functions to support fund-raising activities.  He received three Bachelor of Arts degrees from North Carolina State University in Economics, Business Management, and Accounting, and returned to his alma mater as an Adjunct Professor of Finance for three years where he taught a course in statistical analysis of optimal capital structures for publicly-traded companies.  Steven held a North Carolina CPA license until 2015 when he voluntarily went inactive.

Robert Mercer - Head of Sales

Robert is the Chief Revenue Office for Data443. His leadership experience embraces Sales, Marketing, Services and General Management. Robert has a strong track record of consistent business growth as well as tremendous global experience both in the SaaS software space and the Education, Corporate and Government industry verticals. Prior to Data443 he has been Chief Sales and Marketing office at 3P Learning and Senior Vice President Global Sales & Services at Rosetta Stone. Before these he was Vice President and General Manager at ProQuest for the SaaS business. Much of his corporate career was spent at SAS Institute where he progressed through multiple leadership roles to become Vice President and General Manager of the Latin American and Caribbean Division. He entered the IT industry at Dell where he was European Sales & Service Program Manager.

He graduated as a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from Cardiff University, Wales, Robert was commissioned into the British Army. He served as a Captain in the Royal Engineers and the Queen’s Gurkha Engineer. While in the Army he was educated at The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and at the Royal School of Military Engineering.

During his leadership roles he has lived or worked in over fifty countries.
