Putting the user at the center of the classification experience
High rates of wastage, blind classifications and skipping through data do nothing for your data-classification efforts. In fact, they serve to move your programs backwards
We attack these common issues by making the user central to the data-classification process. For us as we designed and continue to update ClassiDocs, the user has been the focus since day one. It’s in everything we do. The personas for whom we design are front and center in all conversations. Everything we design, argue about or whiteboard has the user experience in mind.
We firmly believe good design enables good behavior and more effective usage. To this end, we our feature-rich solution includes:
|End user experience||A user interface that is relevant to the existing interfaces.||Increased user adoption rates with no or minimal training requirements, creating an engaged user base in very little time.||Why would tools you spend so much money on, be so rude and hostile to your users? It’s a waste of time and money and it’s bad for security. Eventually it is going to lead to a ‘material’ item on your audit.|
|Optimized clicks and tabs||We went through many design iterations to strip out clicks and mouse travel and then justified design testing with testing.||Mouse travel, eyeball movement and tab orders: ALL OF IT MATTERS. Our interface minimizes time to complete essential tasks increasing efficiency and productivity.||Some designs and UIs leave users scratching their heads and wondering was user testing even completed. Tab orders need to work for power users, and new users don’t need to hunt for information; it all needs to flow.|
|Users communicate back to IT||In our interfaces, when something is computed differently than a user expects, the interface can tell you why. We call this ‘data-owner classification guidance.’||We listen to the experts: our users. It seems simple, but few in the industry do it. This was an underpinning to the majority of our infrastructure. This leads to more efficiency, more reliability and a more effective classification.||Why would you NOT listen to your data creators and users? They are the ones responsible, they know what data means what and they are BEST positioned to build, augment and REFINE your classifications. It is a no brainer for us.|
|YOUR branding everywhere||In all modules, components and features, including logos and text, are simply updatable so you can white label the visual experience customized to your company.||This will offset risks of calls into your help desk, increase the acceptance of your deployment and, most importantly, earn the trust of your users.||We felt YOUR branding, not ours, was the most important design consideration here. Why would someone want to ‘promote’ a vendor brand directly to your users? Worse, why confuse them with another company name. Use your branding with your logo and colors engages and empowers your users.|
|Engage your users efficiently||All components of the solution are selectable, and de-selectable. You are in control of the functionality of your interface and what tasks your users can complete.|
It allows users to cut through the clutter and only access the tasks they need. The result: greater efficiency and lower time to complete classification.
|Our research (and your own usage we’re sure) shows that one size fits all doesn’t work, especially in a distributed work force. Why make everyone do the same things? Use your investment in roles and groups to be more selective and cognizant of the differences in the workforce.|
|Actually compute||Our solutions scan the document contents, before it even get to the user! The engines utilize up to date (every 5 minutes and/or every launch) information to refresh the rulesets and classifications in scope.||Classifications change all the time. Merger and acquisition targets change, product launches differ, regulations change, and users can guide the classifications. When you auto compute and analyze information sets and present to the user, it is sure and accurate.||Your organization has tremendous computing power, why is it not doing more for you? Our engine makes your CPUs work for you by updating classifications even when users aren’t using the interface.|
